My name is Scott Miller and I graduated from Palm Beach Atlantic University in 1988 with a Bachelors of Science, majoring in Mathematics and Psychology, with a minor in Secondary Education. I teach the Microsoft Applications and Certification courses at Riviera Beach Maritime Academy, and began my teaching career at RBMA in August 2009.

I have been working with children and/or computers since 1993 when I began working with Real Life Children's Ranch which is a group foster home for children from abused/neglected homes. Here, my wife and I ran a home for 6-8 boys for three years. This culminated in the adoption of our two boys, David and Anthony. From there I went on to teach in a private boarding school for a year, (Samaritan House), and then began teaching computers at CompUSA for five years. Teaching quickly became a passion for me as I loved to see "the light bulb come on" for people that have struggled to understand how the computer worked. An insurance company, Brown & Brown took some classes at CompUSA and offered me a job as a System Administrator. There I began to manage their systems and train them in how to use the more advanced Microsoft Office techniques. Soon my desire to teach took over and I began teaching for the AMS Users Group which is a national insurance group where I was able to teach Microsoft Word, Excel and Access to people from all over the country.
